Gemini is the third sign of the zodiac - the sign of the heavenly twins.

These celestial bodies bestow an element of duality, which emerges on some levels. Gemini's never seem to do only one thing at a time. But it is up to us to remind them that this tendency can get a little out of hand. Their quick wit and need to communicate comes from the influence of their ruling planet Mercury.

Because of this, the key phrase for Gemini is "I think."

Because Mercury has to do with communication, Gemini's must identify and classify. Speech is especially important to them, serving as a framework for their activities. Words are anchoring or safety devices, as the mind jumps from one thing to another.
They are thirsty for knowledge and eager to study. Generally they have a highly developed learning capacity. The inventive imagination qualifies them for professions in writing, experimentation, and criticism.

Education is therefore necessary to them from the time they are born. If their training is poor, they often make life unbearable for others. If they are well educated, however, they tend to be charming and refined individuals.

They are known as the "communicator" of the Zodiac, easily recognizable for their active mind, quick wit and conversational ability. They are extremely excitable and mentally agile, very hard to pin down. They will insist on doing things their own way, which could be very difficult for others unless they unquestioningly accept the duality of this sign.

Gemini's are usually ambidextrous, versatile and alert, but can be restless, inquisitive and a waster of their own energy. One of Gemini's chief faults is a tendency to be too changeable and unreliable. They are easily influenced by kindness. Apt to be good, quick reasoner, they love logic - or at least their version of it.

With the Sun in Gemini they often appear to be superficial, but like Virgo, they enjoy experimentation and proof, or at least strong evidence. For this reason, they would make a good investigator, with the flair for the spoken or written word. Whatever they learn, is quickly imparted to others, it is difficult for them to be secretive.

Gemini's are usually interested in science. They have a very active imagination, which can work for or against them, but they are usually able to arrive quickly at conclusions not easily reached by others.

Generally they are kindhearted, sympathetic disposition but the sensitivities are myriad. They are idealistic and guided by a strong intuitive faculty. They like to be busy and almost never lose that ambitious streak.

Most of the obstacles and setbacks experienced by Gemini's are caused by their love of diversity and variety.
